The Wodonga Abattoirs success relies on the ongoing unique culture of the site, underpinned by the Core Concept. This concept provides real outcomes such as job security, market access, low workcover premiums, low staff turnover and high yields allowing for employees across all departments to reach for and sustain success.
I arrived at the Abattoir in 2001 to fill in time until I found a “Real Job”. 11 years on and I’m still here. Why?
The company instigated external qualifications and in house training in a variety of areas including Quality Assurance, Ausmeat, Environment, OH&S, Dangerous Goods, Supervision, Auditing, Quality control, Security, Pest Control and Administration.
All of this has, I believe, turned me into a flexible, well rounded resource being able to provide many responsibilities within the company.
I have worked at Wodonga Abattoirs for 15 years and have enjoyed it very much. I am a labourer here who has worked in many departments throughout the plant. There is a good career path here too, from being a QC Trimmer to being a Supervisor of a department.
My interests range from camping, fishing travelling and gardening. The hours here suits my interests greatly. So if you’re looking for a great place to work with good friendly people then this is the place for you.
